Chris Noel - Elvis Girl, Honorary Soldier, Friend -

It has been an honor to call Ms. Chris Noel, friend. She is both friend to my husband and me, and to the entire group at Rolling Thunder National. Chris not only put her own life on the line in Vietnam, entertaining our boys there, she was then, and still is, a true patriot and defender of our flag. Elvis got to know Chris during the filming of "Girl Happy," and though he wanted to date her, Chris wasn't game. As Elvis knew her to be, Chris Noel was a "good" girl in 1960's Hollywood, something very rarely found in the number one "sin city."

Chris told me something that Elvis used to do while they were making "Girl Happy." His humor never failed him. He would sing her last name softly into her ear: "Leon, Leon." In truth, Elvis respected Chris and admired her dedication to veterans.

Chris made several movies in Hollywood before deciding to begin a new career which took her over to Vietnam, during the Vietnam Conflict, where she spent her youth and her days entertaining our brave young men. Chris became a very special part of the Vietnam era, and the men who served while she was there have never forgotten her service or her loyalty to them.

Today, Chris continues her loyalty and service to our Vietnam Veterans in a place they can call "home," a home that Chris built for aging and homeless veterans.
