Elvis' Kin Share Their Memories of Elvis...

Many of us knew and loved Elvis. Not all of us were found spending days at Graceland for many lived a good distance away and were not able to enjoy such pleasures outside of their own home lives. Still, Elvis somehow found kinfolk across the miles and kept in touch on a regular basis, when he could. Others spent alot of time at Graceland, and with Elvis in person, and following are some of those stories we, gladly, share with you.

Allen Presley...The Little Boy at Graceland?

Allen PresleyAllen Presley was born in the 1950's,in Virginia, to a woman that he claimed had had a brief affair with young Elvis. The young lady, anonymous for privacy purposes, was married at the time, to Elvis' ill knowledge; she had never informed him of her situation. Had she done so, it is definite that Elvis would never have gotten involved. It was that way.

allen and elvisAfter the birth of the baby, whom his mother named "Allen Presley," was given up for adoption to the Mitchell family and, thus, became "Cabell Mitchell." There are Presley kin in Virginia where Allen was born and raised, and Ronnie Fleetwood had been in touch with some of these family members. Allen has told this story to a few; including to Barbara Lee. Ronnie had every reason to believe that what Allen/Cabell said was true. Allen/Cabell revealed that he had visited Graceland at times, as a small boy, and that a Tonka truck still exists at the premises that belonged to him. He further claimed that Elvis' grandma, Minnie Mae, had watched over him while he was there, and that Priscilla had even gotten after him with a wooden spoon. Allen/Cabell further claimed that he was given a gift of 2 silver spoons that had belonged to Gladys Presley (photo at right).

Allen/Cabell passed away of cancer a couple of years ago. Ronnie painstakingly researched information on questionable people, especially those who claimed kinship to Elvis. Had Allen/Cabell been lying, Ronnie would have known. Instead, the two had always remained very close. In his own right, Allen/Cabell had a great voice, and enjoyed shadow singing on Elvis' tunes. One could hardly tell there were two different voices!

Allen Presley and grandsonThe photos here were the property of Allen Presley/Cabell Mitchell and sent to the Kin of Rock and Roll website by a good friend, Candy, and used with her permission. Candy dated Allen for years and believed, also, what he told her to be the truth. At right, is a photo of Allen/Cabell with his grandson, Jaxson. One can easily see the Presley look in the boy's face.

If immediate Presley family members remember seeing a little boy with glasses every now and then at Graceland, then, so be it. Allen/Cabell also stated that he had received many gifts from Red West, over the years; items that had belonged to Elvis.

Thus, the circle is getting smaller...
